Core
Values
We agree that a
God-honoring church community is grown through an
individual and corporate commitment to these
values:
Prayer
-- Everything we are
and do as a community will grow out of prayer and will
continue only as the Holy Spirit in prayer leads us.
Prayer will be a primary tool for discovering God's plans,
not a way to "bless" our plans.
Life
Change -- God's expressed
desire is for individuals to grow in Christ-likeness.
We are committed to the process in which the Holy Spirit
produces in our lives greater love, joy, peace, patience,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and
self-control.
Integrity
& Authenticity -- Our relationships,
leadership and our programming should be in all ways
authentic. We will be honest about our journey and
have integrity in all things.
Community
-- We desire to be a
biblically functioning community where individuals invest
in each other's lives, interdependent and mutually
supportive, worshipping and growing alongside one
another. Loving relationships are our highest
priority since love authenticates our discipleship and the
church is built relationally.
Diversity
-- Diversity within the
body enables us to relate to a more complete picture of
God. God's grace teaches us to extend grace allowing
us to be an inclusive community, united by our adoption
into Christ's family and a shared purpose, rather than by
uniformity of thinking and practice.
Excellence
& Relevance -- Speaking the Gospel
in effective, meaningful and honoring ways demands the
highest level of excellence and cultural relevance.
Excellence honors God and inspires people. As Christ
was incarnated into our world, so we invest ourselves in
people where they are for the sake of the Gospel.
